| Memories or Stories | I started as a parent watching their boys take ballroom for the first time ever as 5th and 6th graders. Their very first competition was at North Ridge High School maybe 07/08. I volunteered to help the teacher at the time. Lovely Mrs. Tiffanie Harding. I sewed costumes, was a second pair of eyes, and kept kids quiet. (My specialty!) I continued to volunteer while all of my kids went through program. As my 4 kiddo was going through Tiffanie was taking on another job. She had passed me the reigns, still came to help and share advice. I knew very little (in my opinion) and yet somehow I managed to stick with it. I continue to learn and every year, I have kids that teach me. I love teaching kids, and though I never thought this was the path my life would go. I have truly enjoyed learning, teaching, learning some more, and passing on some knowledge of the dance would outside of the back and forth sway. I have incorporated so many more life lessons into my program than just dancing. The kids are there for it. Year after year, they never cease to amaze me. All because I started volunteering in a little ballroom dancing school program so many years ago. |
