I have seen ballroom change lives of students, families, myself and others.
I have seen it change delinquent kids into better students giving them hope, new self esteem, better friends and environment. I have seen it save lives of possible jail time and instead practice time to compete at the competitions and doing well. I have seen disrespect turn in to a hug of gratitude with the comments of thanks for believing in me, I'm here because of you, and Sorry I was such a punk but thanks for not giving up.
I have seen it help students graduate when they were thought of as bad kids with no hope. I have seen it turn once enemies into friends who stick up for each other. I have seen a lot and there is always more around the corner. Each student has a story and some start off looking bleak but have turned into joyous celebrations.
